The client side cache stores information for the game client. Sometimes old or corrupt files may cause issues for the client. This can often be resolved by simply clearing the client cache. There are several ways to achieve this, and the various methods are explained in this article.
In Game
If the EVE Online client is running, pressing ESC will bring up the game options. Select the "Reset Settings" tab, Click on the "Clear" button next to "Clear All Settings" and "Clear all Cache Data".
Clearing the cache and settings through the client will create a backup folder of the respective cache, so an accidental reset can be reversed easily. Those can be found next to the current Cache and Settings folders in the respective directories (see below).
Manually Windows
If the client is running then it should be shut down.
The cache and settings folders are kept in the following location.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\
To open the correct folder press the Windows key + R on the keyboard and then copy and paste the above line and press enter. This will open the correct folder location.
Inside those folders are the cache and settings folders. To completely reset all settings either rename the folder or delete it completely. If the folder was deleted to fix an issue, it is not recommended to reuse any of the old cache or settings files after logging in again as doing so will most likely cause the problem to resurface or other problems to appear.
Manually Mac OS X
If the client is running then it should be shut down.
To open the correct folder on Mac, open the Finder and click on "Go" in the menu bar and select "Go to Folder" from the drop down list. Copy and paste the following into the text box and change the text in bold to your Mac user username and then press enter.
~/Library/Application Support/CCP/EVE/
This is the location for the client cache and current profiles.
