Driver Uninstall/Re-Install Directions + DDU

Outdated or malfunctioning graphics drivers can cause a range of graphical issues. Below are instructions on how to uninstall and re-install your current GPU drivers. If you are familiar with the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) then you can use that to thoroughly remove all traces of your current drivers before re-installing. Keep in mind that DDU is more advanced and you should only use it if you feel comfortable doing so.

AMD

  • Download and run the AMD Cleanup Utility.
  • Download the latest AMD driver and click Download Windows Drivers.
  • Run the .exe to start the driver installation.
  • Reboot the system after the driver has been installed.
  • Launch EVE Online again and see if the issue persists.

NVIDIA

  • Download the latest Nvidia driver for your graphics card and operating system.
  • Run the .exe to start the driver installation.
    • In Installation options, select Custom (Advanced), then click NEXT.
    • In Custom installation options, check the box that says Perform a clean installation, then click NEXT.
    • It should now remove the old driver before installing the new one.
  • Reboot the system after the driver has been installed.
  • Launch EVE Online again and see if the issue persists.

INTEL

Intel disclaimer

Intel supplies generic versions of graphics drivers for general purposes. Computer manufacturers might have changed the features, incorporated customization, or made other changes to the graphics driver software or software packaging. To avoid potential installation incompatibilities, we recommend that you check first with your computer manufacturer and use the driver software provided by them.

Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU)

DDU is currently the most thorough way to remove all traces of a malfunctioning graphics driver and is often more successful than software provided by the GPU manufacturers.

DDU disclaimer

DDU is to the best of our knowledge completely safe, but you are solely responsible for any damages or loss caused by using DDU. If you do not feel comfortable using DDU, please instead follow the instructions above for your current GPU, or contact a certified PC technician for specialized assistance.
