Your personal data rights

You are provided with certain rights under the European GDPR legislation (General Data Protection Regulation).

In relation to your personal data, data protection laws stipulate a ‘right to be forgotten’ – your right of permanent erasure of your personal data in certain instances.

Please refer to the CCP Games Privacy Policy for further information on your rights, the data we collect and store, and how it is used.

How do I request erasure of my Personal Information?

Please be aware that requests for personal data deletion cannot be processed in EVE Online support tickets. Make sure to utilize the above e-mail address for such requests, not the support ticket submission form.

When submitting a personal data deletion request, please ensure:

  • You include the following information if you’ve made real money payments to CCP Games on your account(s). This is to validate your identity.
    • Your billing address.
    • The last four digits of your credit card number.
  • Any outstanding billing/payment requests (e.g. refund requests) that have been resolved in a support ticket before submitting the deletion request. Payments cannot be refunded after your personal data is deleted from our system.
  • You understand the deletion process is permanent and irreversible. Your EVE Online account(s) and characters can never be recovered once the request is processed.

In some instances when deemed necessary, we may request additional information to validate your identity.

Please be aware CCP Games in accordance with GDPR reserves the right to refuse some data deletion requests if there are legitimate grounds to retain the data. This includes requests by permanently banned users as certain information is required to ensure abusive users cannot re-enter the game environment.

How long does it take to process a data deletion request?

CCP Games’ Data Protection team aims to respond to and resolve most requests within 30 days of receipt. In some more complex situations this could be extended. You will be notified in a timely manner if this applies to your case.

What happens when a data deletion request is processed?

Your personally identifiable information/data will be permanently deleted from CCP’s systems.

Game data undergoes anonymization and is non-traceable to you as a person. This process renders all your EVE Online game accounts & characters permanently inaccessible and unrecoverable.
