Many Capsuleers fly with more than one EVE Online account. If you play through Steam, managing multiple accounts requires a few extra steps compared to the regular EVE Launcher. This guide explains how it works and how you can set things up smoothly.
Can I Add Multiple Accounts to Steam?
Each Steam account can only be linked to one EVE Online account.
-
If you want to manage multiple EVE accounts through the same computer:
You can log in with your main Steam-linked EVE account via Steam.
For additional EVE accounts, you’ll need to use direct EVE login inside the EVE Launcher.
Using the EVE Launcher with Steam
When you launch EVE Online through Steam:
Steam will automatically log you into your Steam-linked EVE account.
To access other EVE accounts, click “Add Account” in the EVE Launcher.
Use an EVE Username/Password for those additional accounts (not Steam).
Important: It’s not possible to link existing EVE accounts to Steam after they’ve been created. Only the first EVE account created through Steam is tied to your Steam profile.
Recommended Setup for Multiple Accounts
Main Account via Steam: Launch EVE directly from Steam for your primary account.
Additional Accounts via EVE Login: Add them inside the Launcher by selecting EVE Login instead of Steam.
Once added, the Launcher will remember them, making it easy to switch or run multiple clients.
Example Workflow
Open Steam → Launch EVE Online.
Your Steam-linked account logs in automatically.
In the Launcher, click “Add Account”.
Select EVE Login → enter credentials for your other account(s).
You’ll now see multiple accounts listed in the Launcher, ready to launch side-by-side.
