DED Complexes are cosmic signatures found via exploration which focus on NPC combat. Their difficulty is rated on a scale of 1 to 10, with higher difficulty complexes only being available in low security or 0.0 space, and it is recommended to use a group of logistics assisted battleships to attack a high difficulty complex. Completing a DED Complex may trigger an expedition to other complexes in nearby systems with increasing difficulty, often containing one or more valuable faction NPCs.
DED Complexes are the source of "Deadspace" module variants.
