If you are unable to log in to EVE Online via EPIC after changing your account information (such as your email, password, or authentication settings), this guide explains the possible causes and how to resolve them.
Common Causes
Cause | Description |
|---|---|
EPIC session expired | EPIC sometimes requires a full re-login after significant account changes for security reasons. |
Cached credentials | Outdated login tokens stored in the EVE Launcher can prevent successful authentication. |
Two-Factor Authentication mismatch | If you recently enabled 2FA or changed devices, the launcher may be attempting to use outdated 2FA data. |
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
1. Confirm You Are Logging in via EPIC
Ensure you are selecting the “Log in with EPIC” button in the EVE Launcher and not entering an EVE username and password.
2. Restart EPIC and the EVE Launcher
Fully close both EPIC and the EVE Launcher.
Reopen EPIC and ensure you are logged into the correct account.
Launch EVE Online from your EPIC Library again.
3. Reset the EVE Launcher Session
If the EPIC login process still fails after restarting both EPIC and the launcher, your saved session data may be preventing proper authentication. You can reset the launcher without touching any client files.
Open the EVE Launcher.
Click the ⚙️ Settings (cogwheel) icon in the top-right corner.
In the left-hand menu, select Tools.
Click Log Out All Users.
Close the launcher completely.
Relaunch EVE Online from your EPIC Library and log in again using “Log in with EPIC.”
Tip: This process clears stored login tokens and reconnects your EVE Launcher to your active EPIC session. It does not remove your game installation or characters.
4. Check EPIC Login Session
In EPIC:
Click Steam in the top-right corner → Sign Out.
Log out and log back into your EPIC account.
Launch EVE Online again from the Library.
If EPIC requires you to re-verify your account via email or an authenticator, complete that process before launching EVE.
