If you encounter any of the following issues after starting the launcher, please try the troubleshooting steps below:
- The application does not start.
- The application briefly starts but then crashes to desktop.
- A CCP watermark appears but then the launcher does not start.
- You encounter an HTML error in the launcher window.
- The launcher update does not start.
Deleting launcher cache
If the launcher is not starting, it is possible there was an issue updating the launcher cache and it got corrupted. You can delete the launcher cache so a new, uncorrupted version, is downloaded.
To delete the launcher cache, see the following steps:
Windows OS
- Please press the windows key (Win) + R to open a run window.
- Copy and paste the following text into the run window and press enter.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\QtWebEngine\Default\Service Worker\
- Right click on the folder named 'CacheStorage' and delete it.
- Please press the Windows key and R to open a run window.
- Copy and paste the following into the run window and press enter.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\
- Right click on the folder named 'cache' and delete it.
- Start the launcher and see if the issue persists.
For supported Windows users using Windows 8 or older:
You may also need to install the necessary Windows Universal C RunTime and Visual Studio Redistributable updates provided by Microsoft. You can download the required updater from the following web page.
The latest supported Visual C++ downloads
Specifically, users will need to install the x86: vc_redist.x86.exe
Mac OS
- Please open the Finder and press the Command (⌘) + Shift + G to open “Go to Folder”.
- Copy and paste the following into the “Go to folder” text box and press enter.
~/Library/Application Support/CCP/EVE/QtWebEngine
- Right click on the folder named 'default' and select “Move to trash”.
- Start the launcher and see if the issue persists.
